Sit Quietly. Do Nothing.
In Buddhist philosophy, the ultimate benefit of meditation is liberation of the mind from attachment to things it cannot control. The liberated or “enlightened” practitioner no longer needlessly follows desires or clings to experiences, but instead maintains a calm mind and sense of inner harmony.
In modern life, many people feel stressed and over-worked. This can make us unhappy, impatient, frustrated and can even affect our health. Meditation can lower anxiety and blood pressure, improve concentration, and provide greater happiness. A simple ten or fifteen-minute breathing meditation can help overcome stress and find inner peace and balance.
